A brief description of the role and program. Ex: SAFE Early Childhood Program seeks a full-time Child Development Aide (CDA) to provide support multiple classrooms. CDA position comes in to the classroom to allow other staff to step out and also to interact with and build rapport with children. CDA provides one-to-one intervention, maintain individualized goals and provides feedback on success of individual children.

About this position:
We need you to fill the role of Child Development Aide. This is a FULL TIME, NON-EXEMPT position at our Grove Campus We will pay you an hourly salary of $15.00.
The CDA works with the teachers to assist in the classroom as needed. Duties include covering classroom for breaks, teacher absence and teacher meetings; assisting with daily activities such as lunch and nap time, and housekeeping duties such as laundry and cleaning and sanitizing toys.
The CDA will also be responsible for ensuring that children receive one-on-one lessons designed specifically for their developmental needs.
The CDA keeps staff informed about the progress of the children and observations about development
Possess an Associate or Bachelor Degree in Child Development or related field; or a Child Development Associate certificate
At least one year of experience working with children ages 0 to 5
CPR and First Aid training or willingness to obtain
Pass all required criminal history background checks (including an FBI fingerprint check), as well a pre-employment drug screen and TB test.

All SAFE employees are eligible to enroll their children in our Trauma-Informed Early Childhood Program (ages 3 months to 5 years, space permitting).

The SAFE Alliance grew out of the courageous work of the Center for Battered Women, the Austin Rape Crisis Center, and the Austin Children’s Shelter, all respected, women-led human service agencies created by volunteers and informed by survivors who needed support, safety and justice.
With over 20 programs and 400 staff, we have been serving the Austin community and beyond for over 30 years.
