Case Manager

CARES stands for Collaboration, Advocacy, Response and Engagement for Survivors of Human Trafficking and Sexual Exploitation. The SAFE CARES Case Manager is responsible for providing comprehensive strengths-based case management services for individuals who have experienced commercial sexual exploitation and/or sex trafficking at Liza’s House (CARES Drop-in house). Additionally, the SAFE CARES Case Manager will provide crisis prevention, intervention, and safety planning services, along with stress management and life skills development including assisting young people in applying for resources. CARES Case manager will also assist with staffing and leading groups at Liza’s House.

About this position:

  • We need you to fill the role of Case Manager this is a FULL TIME, EXEMPT position at our Liza’s House Location/Travel in the Austin area and surrounding areas.  We will pay you an annual salary of $41,000-$43,000.

Key Duties:

  • Develop individualized service plans with clients in coordination with SAFE continuum of care as well as leverages relevant community resources as needed to meet their daily living needs.
  • Demonstrate resourcefulness in linking program participants to appropriate community services when needed. Communicate client needs to program staff and community collaborators and follow up to ensure needs are met.
  • Utilize excellent interpersonal skills to serve as liaison between clients and their families, schools, family services, child guidance clinics, courts, protective services, doctors, and other contacts to help facilitate client movement towards safety.
  • Ensures accountability that all work meets the highest standards of practice and is in compliance with all applicable contract requirements.
  • Maintain all required documentation and ensure that all documentation is accurate and in compliance with all contract standards.
  • Assist in developing case management plans for clients that accurately convey the program participants’ needs, strengths, and preferences, while valuing differences in cultural, religious, and ethnic background and keeping in mind how they impact the implications for their care plan.
  • Demonstrate resilience and confidence under pressure when managing crisis situations and the ability to provide crisis interventions with program participants and work collaboratively with professional staff to ensure plans are developed and implemented to ensure safety.
  • Is customer-focused and willing to work in various settings and environments often providing services where it is the best fit for the program participants.
  • Collect and report data on client needs and delivered services as requested.
  • Provide staffing during Drop-in open hours.
  • Lead groups for those individuals participating at Liza’s house.​​​​​​​


  • Possess a Bachelor’s degree in Social work, psychology in social work, psychology, or related field, OR sufficient relevant work or volunteer experience in lieu of degree.
  • Have 2 years case management experience. 
  • This position will require driving to other locations or to meet clients. You must have at least three (3) consecutive years of driving experience OR one (1) year of driving experience if over 27 years of age.
  • 2 years experience working with young people considered “at risk”; experience working with individuals who have experienced commercial sexual exploitation preferred.
  • Have experience participating in collaborative service planning and have an understanding of the stages of change and development.
  • Pass all required criminal history background checks (including an FBI fingerprint check), as well a pre-employment drug screen and TB test.
