what WE need YOU to do for us
We need you to fill the role of PlanetSafe Family Guide This is a PART- TIME, NON-EXEMPT position. PlanetSafe provides safe exchange and supervised visitation services to families who have experienced domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, child abuse, and/or dating violence. You’ll wow us by masterfully performing the following key duties and responsibilities:
Exercise exceptional decision quality and resourcefulness when working with families
Have the ability to intervene and/or terminate visits when needed, providing resources for families when needed, and be able to respond to any issues that arise
Remain customer-focused by instilling trust with team and families to ensure the safety of everyone
Use great interpersonal skill and values differences when working with team members and diverse families
Be willing and able to defuse situations that arise and make families feel welcomed and comfortable, and find common ground or acceptable alternative solutions to both parties
Maintain resilience when faced with difficult situations, conflicts, family dynamics, and cases of trauma or client adversity
Be willing and able to work evenings and weekends. The PlanetSafe operating hours are:
Friday 4 PM – 8 PM
Saturday 10 AM – 4 PM
Sunday 2 PM – 8 PM
Monday 4 PM – 8 PM
to be successful in this role, WE’LL need YOU to
Possess a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology or related field
Experience in a supervised visitation setting preferred
Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred
Demonstrate knowledge of domestic violence and sexual assault issues and knowledge of community resources to support victims in and around the Austin community
Be able to work evenings and weekends
Pass all required criminal history background checks (including an FBI fingerprint check), as well as submit to a pre-employment drug screen and TB test
