SAFE CARES Drop-In Manager

SAFE CARES seeks a full-time Drop-In Manager. CARES stands for Collaboration, Advocacy, Response and Engagement for Survivors of Human Trafficking and Sexual Exploitation. CARES Drop-In Manager is responsible for providing direct supervision of all services at the Drop-In location (Liza’s House on South First) for individuals who have experienced commercial sexual exploitation and/or sex trafficking. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, providing direct supervision of CARES case managers and drop-in coordinator, providing engagement and case work services for young people who have experienced commercial sexual exploitation, assisting with coordinating drop-in schedules for staffing and programming, and offering leadership and guidance in the growth of drop-in services.

About this position:

  • We need you to fill the role of CARES Drop-In Manager. This is a full-time, exempt position which requires both in-person and on-call duties. We will pay you an annual salary of $45,000 to $47,000.

Key Duties:

  • Train, supervise, direct and cultivate the growth and development of an effective drop-in team and ensure accountability within that team. This will include, but is not limited to, team leadership techniques, effective management of performance issues, including documentation and staff supervision. 
  • Drive the engagement of all team members, with a particular focus on fulfilling the mission of SAFE, while helping staff understand and connect with the vision and purpose of the agency.
  • Validate and approve employee timesheets and time-off requests in a timely manner and create weekly individual time for supervisees.
  • Work with the Training Manager to ensure that all staff meet minimum training requirements; identify staff training needs and methods to meet those needs.
  • Collaborate with other teams across the agency to assist in streamlining effective services.
  • Ensure compliance of any standards required pertaining to DFPS, grants, contracts and applicable laws and regulations.
  • Attend and actively participate in meetings and required trainings.
  • Develop supportive relationships with survivors while demonstrating proper boundaries at all times.
  • Create program schedules for Drop-in, implement staffing schedules, distribute and post accordingly.

  • Work as part of team and demonstrate exceptional decision quality and professionalism, as guided by the SAFE code of conduct.
  • Be resourceful in managing and allocating staff and materials in order to ensure effective, organized and efficient program structure.
  • Manage ambiguous and challenging situations with a positive attitude.
  • Demonstrate and cultivate resilience in work with CARES team.
  • Perform on-call duties as needed.


  • Possess a bachelors degree in social services or related field and/or have equivalent lived experience.
  • 2 years experience working with youth, at-risk populations or survivors of commercial sexual exploitation or relevant lived experience required.
  • Must have experience in program development with a track record of progressively more responsible roles in your resume.
  • Have at least 2 years of experience managing and supervising others and experience in program development and coordination preferred.
  • Professional and effective oral and written communication skills and effective solution-focused problem-solving skills.
  • Must have basic proficiency in use of computer software including Word, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Must have Texas driver’s license and provide Department of Public Safety proof of driving record acceptable to agency insurers for the past three (3) years.
  • Pass all required criminal history background checks (including an FBI fingerprint check), as well a pre-employment drug screen and TB test.
