what WE need YOU to do for us
We need you to fill the role of Resident Advisor Relief/PRN. This is a PART TIME, NON-EXEMPT position. You’ll wow us by masterfully performing the following key duties and responsibilities:
Provide coverage for services when staff are out or program coverage is low.
Provides front desk coverage (answering incoming calls, responding to intercoms, assisting residents at front desk, etc.)
Conduct client intakes and exits from shelter in accordance with Safe policies and procedures.
Maintain a safe shelter environment by de-escalating or responding to crisis situations in a professional and respectful manner, engage the support of emergency services when needed, and document any such incidents according to the facility’s standards.
Provide crisis intervention and resident assistance to those in the Family Shelter.
to be successful in this role, WE’LL need YOU to
Bachelor's degree in Social Work or related field or relevant life experience, work, volunteer experience
1 - 2 years' direct client or crisis intervention experience preferred
Experience working with domestic violence, sexual assault, human trafficking or homeless programs
Ability to work in a high stress, fast-paced environment while maintaining a calm and professional demeanor.
Ability to establish rapport, trust, and boundaries with clients.
Ability to use office equipment, Microsoft Office products, and other software on a PC platform to enter/update data into our database regularly.
Bilingual Spanish/English preferred
Ability to be available to cover at least 2 shifts per month.
Pass all required criminal history background checks (including an FBI fingerprint check), as well as submit to a pre-employment drug screen and TB test.

how WE’LL make it worth YOUR while
We will pay you an hourly salary of $13.00.
We’ll pay for your medical, life and short-term disability insurance, if eligible. Pro-rated to your position if not a full time employee.
We will give you 15 accrued paid time off days in the first year, and 22 days in the second year, capping out at 30 days after year seven. Pro-rated to your position if not a full time employee.
We’ll pay you for our six agency holidays and four additional personal holidays to be used at your discretion. Pro-rated to position if not a full time employee.
After your first year of employment working a minimum of 1000 hours, we’ll contribute 2% to your 403(b) retirement, and we’ll kick in an additional 1% if you agree to match it. Pro-rated to your position if not a full time employee.
We understand that you have commitments outside of the workplace, and we’ll do our very best to offer you some flexibility in your work schedule.
