Sexual Assault Accompaniment Specialist

SAFE’s Sexual Assault Victim Advocacy Program seeks a PRN (on-call) Sexual Assault Accompaniment Specialist to provide medical accompaniment to survivors of sexual assault during their forensic exam for evidence collection.

About this position:

  • We need you to fill the role of Sexual Assault Accompaniment Specialist. This is a PRN (on-call), NON-EXEMPT position. You can be dispatched to any facility in Travis County and must respond in less than 60 minutes. We will pay you $16/hour plus $0.625/hour ($5 per 8 hour shift) on-call compensation.

Key Duties:

  • Provide face-to-face crisis intervention and support, discuss medical and legal options, and explain SAFE Alliance support services (such as counseling, legal advocacy and follow-up services).
  • Commit to a minimum of 6 on-call shifts (48 hours) per month. PRN shifts are primarily weekends, with some M-F evenings. Specialists are not onsite while on-call; you may or may not be dispatched during your shift.

Qualifications:

  • Possess a Bachelor’s Degree in social or behavioral sciences. Sufficient relevant work experience may be substituted for degree.
  • Minimum 1 year experience providing crisis stabilization support and advocacy services to trauma survivors required. Can be waived for current senior volunteer advocate in SAVA program.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred.
  • Pass all required criminal history background checks (including an FBI fingerprint check), as well a pre-employment drug screen and TB test.
  • COVID19 vaccination required for clinic and hospital clearance.
  • This position requires in-person service delivery, even during COVID19. PPE is provided and required.
