SAFE seeks a full-time Accounting Coordinator I. This position is responsible for the coordination
and tracking of agency governmental and philanthropic grants.

The SAFE Alliance grew out of the courageous work of the Center for Battered Women, the Austin Rape Crisis Center, and the Austin Children’s Shelter, all respected, women-led human service agencies created by volunteers and informed by survivors who needed support, safety and justice.

About this position:
We need you to fill the role of Accounting Coordinator I. This is a full time, salaried non-exempt position at our 4800 Manor Rd, Austin TX 78723 location. We will pay you an annual salary range of $40,000-$46,000 depending on experience.
Primary focus is on grant invoice and reporting processes as well as grant file maintenance.
This position is also responsible for working with the Grants Financial Manager, Chief Financial Officer, Chief Quality Officer, and other agency staff to develop budgets and assist
Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to, staff communication about funding, producing and updating documents needed by management and development staff to ensure best utilization of grant resources, grant timesheet file maintenance, monthly recurring journal vouchers, deposit process and data entry, assisting with various funding agency site visits, and assisting other members of the finance staff as needs arise.
Bachelor’s degree in accounting preferred or equivalent experience in a related position.
5+ years’ experience is preferred.
Knowledge of governmental and philanthropic grant programs with relevant job experience is preferred
Good working knowledge of accounting software capabilities. Experience with Abila-MIP Fund Accounting software preferred.Advanced MS-Excel skill is preferred.
Excellent attention to detail, producing accurate work and maintaining neat, well-organized records.
Able to maintain flexibility in a work environment that may require frequent interruptions, multiple and changing priorities. Use strong organizational and problem solving skills to take responsibility for a diverse number of projects and complete them in a timely manner with limited supervision, and works as an effective team member.
Ability to take initiative in addressing issues that need improvement while working unsupervised with effective communication.
Excellent communication and listening skills.
Pass all required criminal history background checks (including an FBI fingerprint check), as well a pre-employment drug screen and TB test.
Reports to: Grants Financial Manager and Accounting Manager
Collaborates/coordinates with: Management and other staff throughout the agency
