The Rapid Rehousing (RRH) Peer Support Specialist works closely with the Survivor Peers and a multi-disciplinary RRH team to provide trauma-responsive, client-centered, and culturally-grounded services to homeless survivors of abuse.

About this position:
We need you to fill the role of RRH Peer Support Specialist. This is a Full-Time, Salaried Non-Exempt position at our Grove Blvd. Campus and serving clients housed in the community. We will pay you an annual salary of $32,000 – 35,000.
Conduct outreach and provide individual peer support to homeless survivors of domestic or sexual violence and/or human trafficking participating in the SAFE Rapid Rehousing Program.
Facilitate peer support groups.
Help coordinate the scheduling of peer support volunteers to facilitate peer support groups and provide wraparound supervision to volunteers.
Coordinate services to with a diverse team of Rapid Rehousing service providers.
This position is designed for a survivor of domestic or sexual violence and/or human trafficking who feels comfortable relating to and supporting other survivors.
Competent in the use of office applications and data entry.
Previous peer support experience preferred.
Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred.
Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation required. This position will work serve clients across the community.
Pass all required criminal history background checks (including an FBI fingerprint check), as well as submit to a pre-employment drug screen and TB test.

The SAFE Alliance grew out of the courageous work of the Center for Battered Women, the Austin Rape Crisis Center, and the Austin Children’s Shelter, all respected, women-led human service agencies created by volunteers and informed by survivors who needed support, safety and justice.
With over 20 programs and 400 staff, we have been serving the Austin community and beyond for over 30 years.
