what WE need YOU to do for us
We need you to fill the role of Substitute Teacher. This is a PART-TIME, NON-EXEMPT position. You’ll wow us by masterfully performing the following key duties and responsibilities:
Supervising children ages 3 months to 5 years old
Assisting and supporting teachers with classroom duties
Diaper, feeding, rocking, cuddling, and playing with children
Sanitizing and cleaning
Following DFPS Licensing Minimum Standards at all times
to be successful in this role, WE’LL need YOU to
Possess a high school diploma or GED equivalent
At least 1 year of experience working in a licensed child care center
Spanish Bilingual highly preferred
Pass all required criminal history background checks (including an FBI fingerprint check), as well as submit to a pre-employment drug screen and TB test.

how WE’LL make it worth YOUR while
We will pay you an hourly salary of $14/hour.
If eligible, we’ll pay for your medical, life and short-term disability insurance.
EDIT PER STATUS- Full/Part/PRN; EXEMPT or NONEXEMPT: We will give you 15 accrued paid time off days in the first year, and 22 days in the second year, capping out at 30 days after year seven. Pro-rated to your position if not a full time employee.
We’ll pay you for our six agency holidays and four additional personal holidays to be used at your discretion. Pro-rated to position if not a full time employee.
If eligible, after your first year of employment working a minimum of 1000 hours, we’ll contribute 2% to your 403(b) retirement, and we’ll kick in an additional 1% if you agree to match it.
We understand that you have commitments outside of the workplace, and we’ll do our very best to offer you some flexibility in your work schedule.
All SAFE employees are eligible to enroll their children in our Trauma-Informed Early Childhood Program (ages 3 months to 5 years, space permitting). Priority is given to full-time employees.
